Perhaps it calls for a longer post. I'm amazed when people say what others can and can't write about. Why would you want to limit anyone?Susan Oleksiwhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02693057997469296068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2642483803813231715.post-39829728835396782942016-01-06T14:04:52.793-08:002016-01-06T14:04:52.793-08:00Hi, Susan, interesting post. Another example is when people say you can't write in male POV if female, and vice versa. Of course, writers do that all the time. Much good luck with the collections. I'll look for it when it comes out.Jan Christensenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02027877440748580764noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2642483803813231715.post-3236728109008938782016-01-06T13:36:11.183-08:002016-01-06T13:36:11.183-08:00Thanks, Jacquie. And who is to decide what is our own culture and background? Particularly in this country, each of us can claim several cultures by reason of our mixed heritage. I also love McCall Smith's books, Tony HIllerman's, and many others whose authorship we never even question.Susan Oleksiwhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02693057997469296068noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2642483803813231715.post-71715963131907967052016-01-06T13:29:22.832-08:002016-01-06T13:29:22.832-08:00Hi, Susan,

I love Alexander McCall Smith's take on Botswana for instance.Jacqueline Seewaldhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09177500620940251009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2642483803813231715.post-57385710992473811962016-01-06T12:18:44.951-08:002016-01-06T12:18:44.951-08:00Thanks, Pam.
